'Capitation In Drag'


In the 1990s, there is no question that “managed care, through capitation, bent the cost curve,” says David B. Nash, MD, MBA, of Thomas Jefferson University. “That is irrefutable.” One of the reasons for the backlash is that subspecialties weren’t involved. New bundled payment and pay-for-performance schemes are not making that same mistake.
