On the whole, large employers are more satisfied with their pharmacy benefit managers than are HMOs, but a study released by the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute suggests that both groups find their PBMs lacking in some aspects of utilization management and service.
Room for improvement
Employers and HMOs share common concerns about their PBMs. Figures reflect the percentage of respondents dissatisfied with their PBM's performance on a given function. They also provide a peek into employer and HMO priorities.
